What is Osteopathy?

Manual Osteopathy is a therapy system that utilizes a holistic approach to optimize human physiology. The whole body must work together to function at its best. If a body part is compromised or injured, the rest of the body will adapt and compensate for it. This leads to pain, stiffness, inflammation, overuse of other body parts, and other health related conditions. Such conditions can be treated through an osteopathic approach. An osteopathic diagnosis and treatment are used to treat musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional disorders of the body.

Manual Osteopathy techniques include:

  • Osteoarticular Joint Mobilization

  • Muscle Energy Technique

  • Cranial Osteopathy

  • Soft Tissue Therapy

  • Visceral Mobilization

These manual osteopathic techniques are used to treat a broad range of conditions that affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory, and nervous systems. Commonly treated conditions are:

  • Back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Sports-specific injuries

  • Stress-related issues (migraines, headaches, etc.)

  • Peripheral pain (shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles, hands, feet)

  • Temporal Mandibular Joint (TMJ) pain

  • And more
